This book was a lifesaver for me when I bought it back in 2016 for my prescriber course. I literally memorised the whole book and that’s what helped me pass the test. If there’s an updated version of this book – get it!

I used this book to prepare for my prescribing exam. It has lots of questions with a detailed explanation of each answer. It was very handy, particularly the pharmacology and law and ethics sections. Definitely recommend!

The NMP course can be particularly stressful, this book was really useful when preparing for the end examination, and I would recommend it to all who are undertaking a course of study in prescribing. The MCQs within the book were a really useful revision aid.

This is useful for revising pharmacology and prescribing to some extent, but it is out of date, it does not cover prescribing rights of paramedics and I think it would benefit from a new edition.

As a senior lecturer on Non Medical Prescribing and Advanced Non Medical Prescribing courses for over 7 years, I would highly recommend this book and I have asked for it to be put on our essential reading list for our courses as I am aware that students cannot get enough practice at these type of questions.
It is an excellent resource for students undertaking the V300 course as it allows them to work through frequently asked exam questions. There are different formats to ensure that the book is interesting and the answers are detailed and give clear rationale. I would also suggest that for qualified prescribers it is a useful update to their prescribing skills in the fast-changing area of practice.
