Bought this for my Grandaughter who is 6yrs to read, as we had bought her a hamster and cage for her Xmas pressy.
She is a good reader, and found no trouble with learning how to look after her cute dwarf hamster Pom Pom, Ruby.
We told her it is a commitment having animal to look after, and that after reading the book she’d know all that is needed, and more, to care for her little furry friend, and keep her happy.
She loved the book, telling us all about what she had read. and knows, she is a “Mummy” in all ways to Pom Pom.
Incidentally Pom Pom is so called, because she is a cute white fluffy ball like dwarf Hamster with ruby eyes, who looks just like her name.
I would recommend this book for all children,as well as adults. Easy to read with pictures, it covers everything one needs to know, and more about hamster care

Great as a starter book. Bought for my daughter before we got our first hamster. A lot of information is out of date though so need to check it with Internet also.

This is an excellent book! I bought it for my 8 year old but read it myself and then to her before buying a hamster as her Christmas present. It’s clear, concise, interesting and really well illustrated. It gave us all the basic info (and more) that we needed before buying a hamster. In our first few days of having the Hamster the book is being regularly used to check on what food to give, how to read the Hamster’s body language etc. It’s helping my daughter to be quite independent in taking care of her new pet. Highly recommend!
