Really is a great book, well thought out from start to finish starting with the basics and working its way through to more complex items that build upon the information provided earlier in the book.
The pictures in the book are well illustrated and have really helped grab the attention of my 8yo who loves to take things apart to see how it works.
If your debating to buy this book for a child then debate no longer, my only advice would be to say it’s better read with an adult to help explain some of the less familiar words they will encounter while reading this book

The pictures of this book are amazing. If you know an electronics engineer around or someone who loves electronic, gift them this book. They will love it.
Quality of the images are perfect and there is an abstract about the component.

This book is a treasure trove for any techie minded person and also would be a great tool for education in science and technology to show exactly what goes on inside all our modern (and not so modern) tech gadgets and their individual components. A great book to dip into and as a reference when that question “How do they do/make that?” comes up! Thoroughly recommended.

A coffee table book, perhaps. As someone who has been involved with electronics for over 60 years, I was delighted to see this book. It brought many reminders of older items, and glimpses into the details of newer things such as the HDMI cable. I think anyone interested in electronics will enjoy this book, and all being well, learn something new, too.

Very interesting and extremely well done photos, this book can really help you learn mechanisms which you never even stop to think “how does that actually work?” An example are dip switches, I know its a switch, I know roughly what it much do, but actually seeing a cross section made me go ‘ohhhh thats how it works’, which is pretty much what you get on every page. They even give you information on how to produce the quality of photos they do at the back which I thought was very thoughtfull and nice.
