My granddaughter loves all Topsy and Tim books, this one being no exception. The story is a bit dated but this takes nothing away from the joy the book gives.

Nice book but a bit too messy, too much information and too many safety aspects and each are not covered completely. Too much diffirent information for little heads, would prefer it to be road safety only etc.

I have read this book 4 times to my toddler today! He can’t seem to get enough of it and keeps asking for me to read it. I think it is because he can relate the scenarios to what he sees in everyday life now – like waiting for the green man crossing the road. I was cooling his dinner down and told him it was too hot for him to eat just yet and his actual words were ‘you could burn yourself like Topsy and Tim’ so he is taking things from the story on board. I was worried that the book might be too much for him with all the dangers in like choking, tripping etc and I didn’t want to frighten him but he is nearly 3 and I think it is a good book for introducing hazards which occur in the outside world. I did read it myself though to see what it was like before we read it together. Hopes this review helps.

It is a bit of a dull read as an adult, with the potential for accidents coming thick and fast but my 3 year old who I bought it for loves it and if familiar characters will make her read a book and maybe remember the lessons then that’s all good for me!

Great story to prompt discussions about safety with young children. A range of safety topics are covered in a simple way as part of the story. Would recommend for young children.

Bought this to read with my toddler due his recent running off escapades. He was very interested in the book. It covers lots of different safety advice for kids such as road and car safety, oven and kitchen safety, garden safety. Promoted some nice conversations. Would recommend if you have a toddler like mine, with NO sense of risk!
