This is a must-read for any student and practitioner of a professional equine working establishment. It would be good for the amateur as long as they use it only to realise how much they must rely on professionals who are graduates of the subject. The author justifiably has great authority and yet down to earth common sense. She explains everything she writes so that what she puts forward can be immediately seen as practical fact and is not some vague theory dreamed up by a bogus person. The experience of the horse is put first and all measures to put right its wrongs are based on the horse’s conformity, gene pool and the behavior it has been subjected to in its life so far. Any of Mary Bromily’s books should be on the book shelf of any rider.

This book has information of pretty much every equine therapy method out there, and not just a couple of lines on each one, it actually teaches you something useful!

A good background to horse injuries including causes, and the many different therapies available. Have a horse recovering from an unidentified knee lameness, in conjuction with vet and physio we put him on 3 months box rest, and whilst I’m not sure exactly what he did, there are lots of ideas and tips for his slow rehab back to fitness.

My horse is going through rehab for an injury and I wish I’d found this book earlier as it really has helped my understanding. My friend has also bought it since I bought it. I’m sure an even newer edition will be even more useful with how quickly some advances are made in treatments
