This was good, but more predictable than book one so I feel like I’m waiting for the characters to hurry up and catch up to things. The smut was good, the FMC was a bit annoying in this one, but only a little. So far this series is very similar to ACOTAR/TOG when you consider the story beats. There’s even a line ‘from now until the etherlance takes us’ or something that’s v similar to the well-known ‘from now until the darkness takes us’ from TOG. Overall, good but lacking in originality where story beats are concerned.

I immediately threw myself into this second book, with nary a second of pause after finishing the first, eager to join Lor and Nadir in their quests. Once again “freed” from a prison, Lor reluctantly joins forces with the Aurora Prince in a bargain to free her family, and regain her past. I enjoyed this in a different way to the first book: the angst of the ever-growing connection between the two; Lor’s battle to truly be free; Nadir’s determination and dawning certainty of their bond. This book truly puts the will they or won’t they in slow burn, and the angst alone would have had me gripped. I cannot wait for the next book!

Different setting to the first book as it follows along, I enjoyed the new progression and new setting. There was more personality growth and understanding about who Lore is. The world building is as fascinating as it was in the first book.
The extra POV (3rd version) of Nadir & Serce’s were really interesting. Especially seeing how the world is from a different view.
I’m so invested to where this series is going and really enjoyed it so far.

I DEVOURED this book!! I absolutely loved the first but this one definitely topped it. I did find the continuous running from the party rather annoying however, aside from that I thoroughly enjoyed it. The dual POV was brilliant, the writing was really well done. Such a great book, I cannot wait for the third

This book is captivating from the first page just like Book 1.
I’ve been reading all the book tok recommendations after my ACOTAR hangover but this is the first series that’s been worth the hype and I’ve truly enjoyed . The story and writing is unique to the author and only comparable to SJM in how much I enjoyed reading both authors’ books.

The first book has a lot to it, and was very enjoyable. This one I didn’t enjoy as much: I hate stories which hinges on protagonists making mind-bogglingly stupid decisions, and this book has quite a few. There was also too much sex to keep me interested – it was really boring in the end – every bad decision seemed punctuated by pages of intercourse and the plot achieved very little forward movement considering the book was so long. I am still intrigued by the overall story arc and am interested in the outcome of this series, so I will probably read the next book in the series but please keep the momentum of the story moving forward…

As I mentioned on the previous review on the first book I literally gave up sleeping over the weekend to read these book , it was really that good ! I’m an avid reader but this book definitely gave me more and I’m absolutely buzzing for the next book . It has everything I want in a good book . Great story line ( really great and detailed) . Loveable characters also great villains too . Don’t forget the spice as I love a bit of spice also . It was just right in that sense it got me hot and flustered but didn’t take anything away from the amazing storyline.
