SIGN LANGUAGE FOR EVERYONE: A Basic Course in Communication with the Deaf
“Listen with your eyes . . . Sign Language is a method of presenting thoughts via pictures made with one’s hands.” People are adaptable. This trait is particularly useful when one of the five senses is weakened and another becomes more acute to compensate for the weakness. So the deaf, when they hear, hear with their eyes. To communicate to the deaf, then, is to translate the speech of the hearing world into the pictures of the seeing world. “It is an amazing truth that Dr. Cathy Rice has had more influence on the ministry to the deaf, through her teaching of Sign Language and getting others to learn and teach it, than anyone else in the world. All around America, I have attended churches that have someone interpreting sermons for the deaf and teaching a class for the deaf. And in most cases, they learned the Sign Language at the Bill Rice Ranch and were taught by Dr. Cathy. I am so glad she has written this book. It is authoritative and important. God bless it.” ?the late Dr. John R. Rice, Sword of the Lord Ministries, Murfreesboro, Tennessee In 1953, the late Bill Rice, along with his wife, Cathy, founded the Bill Rice Ranch in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, as a ministry to deaf individuals. Since then, the Ranch has been the headquarters for ministries reaching the deaf for Christ both in this country and abroad. The Ranch still maintains camp and conference grounds in Tennessee and in Arizona where deaf young people can attend one of several weeks of camp free of charge. Also, the sign language school that Dr. Rice began continues to train people through classes held at the Ranch each year. Well over eight hundred churches have established deaf ministries as a result of training received at the Ranch.Read more

Little London Transport: Network SouthEast 30th Anniversary Special Edition: Volume 1
A collaborative photographic history in model form with a little type and model history added too. This originally started as a project to create a photo book of my model Bus and Railway collection. I then started to seek help from some other model photographers on the photo sharing website Flickr. Before I knew it we had more people on board and an extensive collection was starting to build including some rare types and starting to detail the history of these vehicles types in model form. This is the first book in the series, soon to follow are further editions detailing London’s Buses, Trains, Trams, Trolleybuses and Tubes. As Network SouthEast has always been one of my favourite railway operators I thought I would release a special NSE edition first to celebrate 30 years since it’s inception. NSE was created when I was a small child and the trains were noticeably much more brighter than the grey and blue units that came before and became an obvious choice when I started a model railway a few years ago (to be detailed further in a later book). NSE really was something very different from what had gone before with bright colours of its trains, red all over it’s stations and a real effort to improve its trains and services thanks to the idea created and implemented by Chris Green. This book contains over 90 colour photos with a description displaying Network SouthEast models in a realistic scene with a little history info too. Release history Version 1.0 – 11th October 2016 Version 1.1 – 13th October 2016 Small amendment to details of Dapol and Heljan Class 86 Version 1.2 – 17th October 2016 A further photo of 47401 with a rake of NSE coaches added Version 1.3 – 21st November 2016 13 photos added by Andy Carter and a further 5 photos added by Jonathan FrancisRead more

Formula 1 2020/2022 Technical Insights: Preview 2023 (Formula 1 Technical Insights)
An analysis of the technical evolution of the Formula 1 cars during the course of 2020, 2021 and 2022 seasons through hundreds of drawings accompanied by painstakingly accurate technical/sporting texts. Three remarkable seasons for Formula 1, firstly with the pandemic – which drastically reduced the 2020 championship – to Red Bull’s return to form with the incredibly quick Max Verstappen proving to be a leader capable of challenging and defeating Lewis Hamilton in the controversial conclusion to the 2021, and then repeat the feat the following year. A world championship that saw Ferrari with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz back amongst the front runners, albeit missing out once again on the ultimate honours. Paolo Filisetti “escorts” the enthusiastic reader through these three seasons, revealing through his drawings, the technical innovation introduced by the various teams, many of which were the subject of often heated debate. The volume is completed by a rich preview dedicated to the 2023 World Championship, with a chapter reserved to the single-seaters of this season, a contribution on the rules and one on the main technical innovations seen in the first part of the Championship.Read more
