Desi – Fashion Colouring Book Inspired by South Asia
This is a book full of illustrations inspired by South Asian Fashion for you to colour and enjoy!
I have lived my whole life in the bustling streets of London, but my heart has always been heavily influenced by my Bangladeshi ancestry. My heritage touches every aspect of my life, most notably in my passion for fashion.
‘Desi’ is a term loosely used to describe the people, cultures, and products of the Indian subcontinent and their diaspora. ‘Desi’ predominantly traces its origin to the people of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Desi style is difficult to define into words but I can say it typically embraces vibrant colours, motifs inspired by nature, paisley prints, and intricate design work.
I love wearing my traditional Desi clothes. Every Eid you will find me at Southall or Green Street Upton Park shopping for my next outfit. I have so many great pieces that my wardrobe overflows with Kurtas, Lehengas, Kameez, Anarkalis, and Sarees. Let’s not forget the magnificent Desi jewellery, including Tikkas, Jhumkas and Chooriyans.
My love for South Asian Fashion reverberates in all my artworks. As an illustrator, I pour my heart into each creation. I find joy in detailing every petal, bead and sequin. With this book, I hope to inspire and introduce the audience to the beauty and glamour of South Asian Fashion.
I hope this book invokes a deep sense of pride in all the Desi Population. Your fashion and style is a unique part of your identity. Your culture and traditions are something to celebrate and enjoy!
Please do tag me in your posts, I would love to see your colouring creations!

Miser and misanthropist Ebenezer Scrooge hates the festive season. Can the visitations of his dead business partner Jacob Marley and the spirits of Christmas past, present and yet to come shake him from his habits, to show him the true value of Christmas?
Dickens’s 1843 story was written in response to the plight of the poor, the hungry, the exploited and the uneducated in Victorian society, suggesting that the true test of a society is the way it treats its children.
