This publication began as a free download of six posters for families and teachers looking for BSL materials for revision of signs learned in classes to mark the historic event of the Coronation of King Charles 3rd on 6th May 2023 .
Downloading and printing is not readily available to everyone and it became evident that there was a need for a printed version – and so the six posters have grown into an activity booklet that can also be kept as a souvenir of this landmark occasion. It contains a mixture of colouring pages, wordsearches and fingerspelling puzzles.
The sign vocabulary includes:
King, Charles, 3rd, Coronation, Parade, Westminster Abbey, Street, Party, Cake, Picnic, Family, Friends, Horse, Gold, Carriage, Buckingham Palace, Royal Family, British, Flag, Red, White, Blue.
These are again listed with written descriptions in a Glossary at the back of the book along with the Fingerspelling Alphabet and Handshape Key.
The colouring pages have a blank reverse to avoid bleed-through
and there are a number of word puzzles to entertain individual and family groups with varying degrees of difficulty.

Great book, for children and beginners.

Having used Cath’s resources for many years with our Deaf pupils and families I knew this would be of the same quality! Having ordered one to have a look, I quickly went back online to order enough for all the children to have one. I didn’t want any of them to miss out!
The quality is excellent and it is presented well with a combination of activities, games and colouring to keep any child busy. More importantly, it has BSL (British Sign Language) graphics throughout so users can learn/practice the signs for the upcoming historic event as well as practice their fingerspelling. A perfect souvenir of the special occasion for children to enjoy at school and with their families at home.
I would highly recommend this book! Get them quick before they sell out!
