If you are completely new to the Guitar this is the ideal book, as it comes with pictures of finger placements you will need. Also strumming patterns with the chords you are learning with.
If you are looking for your first book you can not go wrong with this, it has been well thought about with the novice in mind.

I play the saxophone and the Piano. I read classical music notation. I wanted to learn the fingering acoustic guitar. This book just teaches strumming cord’s. Very disappointed.
