I really like this book. I use it as my first point of reference for reminding myself of the properties of herbs I use every day in my herbal medicine practice. It is very well laid out, and the author is obviously someone who has enough experience as a medical herbalist to know what categories of information are useful. I would also recommend it to anyone who wants to access more in depth analysis of popular medicinal herbs.

Owning the original (which is great) I was very excited to learn this had been “expanded and updated”…and equally disappointed to see it’s actually word for word the same. I wondered perhaps if more/different herbs had been added, but that’s not the case either. It’s basically a rehash of the 2009 version (with not much rehashing!). I returned mine 🙁

I excitedly bought this book as it promised “updated and expanded information”. When I received it I compared it to my original copy and could not find any updated information. Word for word exactly the same.
Very disappointing.
If you have the original copy, then you really do not need this version.
However, if you don’t have the original version then this is still a fantastic resource and I would recommend the text to all Medical Herbalists. It is a wealth of valuable information.
