Bought it for phase one. Could not use as I would have thought. Excellent book for the next level.

Bought for my second child having bought the older versions for my first. I couldn’t understand when ordering why activity books 5-8 were no longer available but can now see that activity book 1 in this series is the exact same content as both activity books 1 and 2 in the old series. The only slight difference in the content is the addition of “well done” stickers at the top of each page. Highly recommend these workbooks for new readers especially when used in conjunction with the readers. They are colourful and engaging.

Great book.

My missus was given Stage 3 version of this book by the same author, and we were impressed with that but the level was a bit too advanced for her. So, we purchased this one and Stage 2 hoping it would be more at her level and we haven’t been disappointed. I recommend highly overall.

I really like these books. I find it works best to do them towards the end of reading that ‘stage’. Each page is based on a different story, so you want to have read that book ideally before doing the page.
Things I really like:
1. A number of sticker activities, and also a completion sticker for each page.
2. A good range of types of activity: match the word to picture, choose the right word, crosswords, etc.
3. They require very little actual writing, so my younger reader who is not yet writing doesn’t get frustrated by them.
Well done OUP!

My 4 year old daughter really enjoyed this book, she saw it as a treat after she had read the books after we were struggling to get her to read.
It’s great to do after reading all of the stage 1 books. It really brings the learning together and it’s nice as a parent to see how much the child has learnt.
