I bought this as a gift for a friend who is just beginning hi art journey but had a flick through before wrapping it and learned SO much even as a relatively experienced artist.
Really beautifully illustrated, I’d thoroughly recommend this book, it has tons of information ( even how to set up a studio).

When you’ve been ‘doing art’ for a while you think you know lots but this book gave me so many new insights and answers to questions I didn’t know I had. It touches on all disciplines and gives you a starting block to try new things. It’s a one-size fits all starter’s manual for all media but is useful for all levels as it fills in lots of gaps. Very thorough. I can’t recommend it enough. (Gill Varle, artist & interior stylist).

I purchased the KINDLE version: An excellent art foundation/GCSE/short art course guide book for those who wish to study fine art and develop their skills/personal visual language in different media. I study drawing, painting, printmaking with online short courses and found this book an essential guide.

A great guide and well put together, with so much information on many aspects of art, weather it being studying, work or an expanding hobby, this helps in covering areas such as drawing, paint, design, sculpture, which tools and materials to use, creation and colour, starting points to setting up space or a studio, using technology of different kinds to produce digital graphics, photography and more. This is for anyone weather your just starting or your a professional. It’s a nicely paced beautiful book, with an index and nice layouts to lots of steps to the art world, a fantastic read which I found helped me to get back at drawing again. With plenty of images, insights and knowledge, this has to be the best guide books I have ever come across and do recommend, a book to have by you and rediscover again and again, also have the digital copy. -Brilliant.

There’s a lot in it! I have similar books but none of them are as detailed as this one. It also covers a lot more areas and subjects. There was some slight damage to the cover.

A very concise, insightful, informative and visually stunning book both for artists and for general public who are interested in the process of art making.
