Rachel Bright’s tales all have very good messages for little ones. The messages are subtle, the rhymes sublime and Jim Field’s illustrations bring them delightfully to life. They are a joy to read and are much enjoyed by the listeners.

This is the latest of the series of books that give a life lesson for children in a humorous and simple way. The rhyming story is suitable for very young children, and can help with reading skills as they get older.
I love them all, as does my grandson aged 8. Even though he reads more involved books nowadays , we still like to read these and discuss what the subtext is about.

This is an excellent book! The illustrations are fantastic, and the rhyming text makes it both enjoyable and easy to read. I’ve already purchased several of the author’s books and would not hesitate to complete the collection.

I now have 8 of Rachel Bright and Jim Fields’ books. We first got The Lion Inside and since then I have been hooked on getting the whole collection. (My favourite so far is The Way Home for Wolf)

Each one has a sweet yet important message that children as well as adults can enjoy. The illustrations are stunningly done and the writing is clever and impactful.
