A very useful little book. If you’re serious about property deal sourcing in the UK you must read this book: it will give you a clear view of what you need to do to be complaint and having a business running to high standards.

At first, I was a bit surprised by the size of this guide, it struck me as rather thin, to be honest. But that should be its selling point! It’s basically all useful information packed into a concise, step by step guide. And it’s written in a simple language, which allows you to really understand the principles of sourcing compliance. Definitely recommend to those who are starting their research in the compliance area and those who want to have a guidebook at hand to make sure they did not miss anything.

This book although thin, gives a really good level of detail on deal sourcing compliance, if you are looking for a book that discusses the overall process of deal sourcing i.e finding deals and investors, packaging and selling, this doesn’t cover that aspect and is only concerned with compliance.

I read this cover to cover within a couple of hours, it’s not an exhaustive list but provides starting points for where to begin your research on compliance. However it clearly hasn’t been proof-read as there were several spelling and grammar issues throughout which casts doubt on the credibility of the author.

This is a worthy book, detailing the importance of legal compliance and adequate protection from money laundering. As a start up property deal sourcer I was disappointed. that it contained little information about the commercialisation of the business. The title, The Deal Sourcer’s Toolkit raised wider expectations.
