Rivals
One bachelorette party. One stag do. One double-booked villa and only one way to decide who gets it: a competition.
Workaholic Molly is buzzing when her best friend tells her she’s getting married. As maid of honour Molly can’t wait for the perfect bachelorette party in Spain. What could be better than a week in a stunning villa? Sun, sea, cocktails and gossiping – and best of all, no boys allowed. But when the hens arrive they discover that they are not alone. The villa has been accidentally double booked by a group of stags who make it very clear they’re not leaving!
It’s a disaster, and no one wants to give up their place in paradise. Attempts at compromising fail instantly, so their only option is to have a winner takes all competition. Battle lines are drawn and it is girls v boys – but will the competition be too hot to handle?
As their rivalry heats up, and Molly finds herself gravitating towards stag Travis, it’s clear that he’s enjoying the attention – but Molly can’t let herself get distracted, and under no circumstances can she fall for the enemy.

Oh my! I never know what to expect when I start one of Portia’s books other than side splitting hilarity and this book doesn’t disappoint.
It starts with a perfect proposal which has your heart melting, then the rollercoaster ride begins. The proposal is quickly followed by a breakup, on the same night in fact.
Then we have Love Island on steroids. A hen party of four and stag party of four doubled booked at a villa in Spain for two weeks. It’s not much fun though as the two groups instantly hate each other and set out to make life difficult.
This all makes for hilarious reading. I actually laughed out loud most of the way through the book. Alongside this, the sparks flying aren’t just from the firepit, nor is the heat!!! I think I felt every single emotion at one point or another reading this book.

Thank you @rararesoucers For letting me be part of this tour and reviewing this book. Too Hot to Handle is an amazing read and I adored the characters. This is a romance genre that is fantastic for the summer. I like the front cover and the title, it works well with the plot and does not give much away. If I saw Too Hot to Handle in a bookshop I would definitely pick it up its vibrant and looks fun. The story about Molly, who the best friend getting married and the wedding and bachelorette party will be held in Spain where they get to stay for two weeks in a villa but little do they know another party has been given the villa to because it was double booked. I do love Portia Macintosh books, they are a pleasure to read and this was a feel good read that made me chuckle and smile in places. I loved it. It took me a day to read just because I fully enjoyed the friendship between the girls and the banter between the boys. All the characters were likeable and I loved the setting, I felt like I was in Spain with them. A fun and heartwarming read that will make you smile all the way through. A must-read 5 stars.

Too Hot To Handle by Portia Macintosh
Workaholic Molly is in desperate need of a holiday, so when her best friend decides to get married in Spain, a two week holiday around the wedding in a stunning villa, is the perfect opportunity.
With hopes of sun, cocktails, and relaxing by the pool, in the week long hen do leading up to the wedding, Molly and the girls have the shock of their lives to find that their villa has accidentally been double booked! As if that wasn’t bad enough, the other booking is a stag group!
With neither party wanting to relocate, a week long competition takes place to decide who will remain in the villa for the second week, and who will leave. Creating a Love Island vibe, which is just brilliant!
My thoughts
Oh my goodness! This was such a funny and entertaining read. I absolutely loved all of the banter and rivalry between the hens and stags, and there were some cracking laugh out loud moments that made this book such a memorable read. One in particular being the whole shampoo situation – I was literally wetting myself
I thought there were a great mixture of personalities, and the main character Molly was just so loveable.
This is the first book of Portia’s that I’ve read and I found her writing style and humour a joy to read, and flew through this book within 24 hours!
Such a fantastic, must read sunny rom-com full of highly competitive adults, lots of forced proximity situations, enemies-to-lovers and a very swoon-worthy male
Thank you so much again to my lovely friends @boldwoodeverafter for sending me this fantastic book

Too hot to handle is a nice, easy read. The book started off slow, but once it got going, I enjoyed it.
Portia had me laughing throughout the book. I loved the competitiveness, banter, friendships, and developing romances throughout.
If I had been in their situation, I don’t think I would have handled it as well to begin with
I loved how they started out hating each other, then became competitive to stay at the luxury villa to become engrained in each other’s lives.
Molly and Travis’s scenes were a highlight of the book. Travis was so sweet and caring towards Molly, and Molly let her guard down and became more playful. You could feel the attraction between them
It was great to see northerners as the main characters, and you came to love them all
Too Hot To Handle had me imagining I was sitting in the sun, by a pool reading the book. It is the perfect fun, summer read
