As a James Patterson devotee, I gave this a go. It certainly is a ‘hot shot’ – took me all of 90 minutes to read. These are fine if you just want something quick and easy to read, i.e. in a waiting room or on a short journey, but I certainly won’t be giving up the full length novels. I can read a James Patterson/Steve Berry/Val McDiarmid/Patricia Cornwell book in about 3/4 days and Mr. Patterson is the only one who can produce the goods quickly enough! Good story though

a good read but the series has become a bit familiar.

My review relates to the structure and format of the writing, rather than the quality, as no one can complain about the way James Patterson writes – usually. In this format, though, I don’t think it entirely works, I know it’s meant to be a ‘shot’ but I was left feeling that there are large, IMPORTANT, chunks of the plot left out and this detracted from the flow and development of any story. Sorry, but I won’t be buying any more of these, just the full length Patterson novels.

I am using this space because there is no provision for it opposite the book I.m referring to
which is Alex Cross Kill This novel is in my computer as being purchased, but it is not in my kindle. I have been trying to contact you by telephone but the uk line as been changed and no new number is available. Also if I may take this opportunity to mention that at a time when I was having trouble with my Visa card the first book I ordered was a Alex Cross novel Cross The LIne. This was purchased as a sample of the all the books I,ve read Alex Cross is my best
character so you see I.m very keen to complete this novel. If you could please check your records I would be obliged.

Sorry but not his best, story had promise but not enough mystery or intrigue. Main character seems to have telepathic powers

More from Patterson’s private list and similar structure but now in short story which makes it a bit lightweight. Also the story is a little simple and no obvious reason for private to be involved. But it rolls along at a good pace and keeps you involved even if a little predictable and quick ending with no real twists or suspense.

Quite good for a short story. Unusually for James Patterson I guessed the baddy which I don’t normally do in his books unless he tells you who it is. Good holiday read maybe for a wet day.
