Mrs. Beeton’s Dictionary of Every-Day Cookery
The reasons for the publication of this Volume—the First of a Series of Practical Manuals which were to be called the “All About It” Books—were thus explained in a Prospectus issued a few months ago, and approved by the late Mrs. S. O. Beeton:— Many wishes have been expressed to the Authoress of the “Book of Household Management” that a volume of Recipes in Cookery should be written which could be sold at a price somewhere between the seven-and-sixpenny “Household Management” and the Shilling Cookery Book. Accordingly Mrs. Beeton has prepared a Collection of Recipes, and of other Practical Information concerning the Dressing and Serving of Family Fare, which, when completed, will be published, in serviceable binding, at the price of Three Shillings and Sixpence. As Mistress, Cook, and Critic have declared that the details in Mrs. Beeton’s larger work are so easy to understand, the Authoress has followed, in every Recipe printed in the present Dictionary, the same simple plan she originally used. Regarding, however, the arrangement of the Recipes, the Authoress has chosen the Dictionary form, believing an alphabetical arrangement to be the best for a book that is being constantly referred to. By the adoption of a very intelligible system, all cross reference, and that very disagreeable[viii] parenthesis (See So-and-so) is avoided, except in a very few instances. Where any warning as to what should not be done is likely to be needed, it is given, as well as advice as to what ought to be done. No pains have been thought too great to make little things clearly understood. Trifles constitute perfection. It is just the knowledge or ignorance of little things that usually makes the difference between the success of the careful and experienced housewife or servant, and the failure of her who is careless and inexperienced. Mrs.

Infused with cognitive science research and evidence-informed practice, it offers schools the architecture for excellence, helping remove the risk of making assumptions.

‘Great book. Very insightful and easy to follow’ — ***** Reader review********************************************************************************************
It’s estimated that one in almost a hundred people are diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum but there is far more hope for them today than ever before thanks to ground-breaking new research. In this fascinating and highly readable book, Temple Grandin offers her own experience as an autistic person alongside remarkable new discoveries about the autistic brain, as well as genetic research.
She highlights long-ignored sensory problems as well as the need to treat autism symptom by symptom, rather than with an umbrella diagnosis. Most exciting of all, she argues that raising and educating children on the autistic spectrum needs to be less about focusing on their weaknesses, and more about fostering their unique contributions.Written in a clear, concise and accessible way, with illustrative diagrams and key points pulled out for emphasis, this is an all-encompassing guide that will change the perception of autism.

Behaviour: The Lost Modules
Oh hey! Thank you for being here. Let me introduce myself. My name is Jen Foster and I am an educator.A few years ago, I started an Instagram account dedicated to teaching. I started by just sharing everything and anything and loving having a community of keen beans like me. But it didn′t take me long to spot something quite odd. Scrolling through thousands of teachers′ experiences around the world there were two things that stood out like a sore thumb: Behaviour was this huge obstacle in teaching; The guidance around behaviour was either inconsistent, vague or unhelpful.
So, I decided to learn everything I could about behaviour. I explored outside the education shelves and bought way too many books about neuroscience, positive psychology, business, and parenting. The more I learnt, the more I reflected on my own practice and my own experiences in schools. I asked educators in my community their opinions on behaviour, and this is what I found out:
93% felt that they had inadequate behaviour training as a trainee teacher
88% feel they have inadequate behaviour training as a qualified teacherSo, isn′t it about time we shined a spotlight on behaviour?
Behaviour: The lost Modules is the book you wish you had read before stepping into a classroom. The book you wish had been required reading on your university reading list. A book that is practical, easy to read and tells you what you need to know about behaviour in primary schools. A book by a teacher for teachers, drawing on common sense, personal experiences and current research.

Good Inside: The new Sunday Times bestselling gentle parenting guide for fans of Philippa Perry
‘The voice of reason for a generation of… mums and dads’ – The Guardian
Wildly popular parenting expert Dr Becky Kennedy shares her groundbreaking approach to raising kids in a way that feels good.
Over the past several years, Dr Becky Kennedy―known to her followers as ‘Dr Becky’―has been sparking a parenting revolution. Millions of parents, tired of following advice that either doesn’t work or simply doesn’t feel good, have embraced Dr Becky’s empowering and effective approach, a model that prioritises connecting with our kids over correcting them.
From reward charts to time-outs, many popular parenting approaches are based on shaping behaviour, not raising humans. These techniques don’t build the skills kids need for life or account for their complex emotional needs. Add to that parents’ complicated relationships with their own upbringings and it’s easy to see why so many of them feel lost, burned out, and worried they’re failing their kids.
In Good Inside, Dr Becky shares her parenting philosophy, complete with actionable strategies, that will help parents move from uncertainty and self-blame to confidence and sturdy leadership. Offering perspective-shifting parenting principles and troubleshooting for specific scenarios―including sibling rivalry, separation anxiety, tantrums, and more―Good Inside is a comprehensive resource for a generation of parents looking for a new way to raise their kids while still setting them up for a lifetime of self-regulation, confidence, and resilience.

Ready to Teach: The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde
‘Ready to Teach: The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’ is a compendium of background reading, subject knowledge, resources and classroom strategies to support the teaching of Stevenson’s gothic tale of morality, murder and science. Using a combination of pedagogical theory, research and work from other Victorian writers of the time, the book helps to prepare, develop or deepen the teaching of the text in the classroom.
As part of the Ready to Teach series, each chapter contains lesson-by-lesson essays and commentaries that enhance subject knowledge on key areas of the text alongside fully resourced lessons reflecting current and dynamic best practice.
The book also offers an introduction and exploration of Victorian society as seen in the novel but also how other writers of that time presented similar themes or ideas. Literature is never created in a vacuum and Ready to Teach: The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde explores how text reflects its Victorian context and what other writers were doing at that time.
‘Ready to Teach: The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’ has a level of duality like Doctor Jekyll himself. Toddler Coloring Book: Numbers, Letters, Shapes and Animals, Coloring Book for kids, Age 1-3, Preschool Coloring Book
Toddler Coloring Book: Numbers, Letters, Shapes, Colors and Animals.
100 Easy And Fun Coloring Pages For Kids From 1 Year Old.
Simple Learning By Coloring.Simple coloring book for toddlers with letters, numbers, shapes and animals.
The primary purpose of this coloring book is to learn or improve the motor skills of little hands and to improve children’s concentration and familiarize them with letters, numbers and shapes. The first partof the coloring page contains upper and lower case letters of the alphabet with bold lines, and pictures with the word beginning with the given letter of the alphabet.
Combining upper and lower case letters gives a greater variety of colors, which stimulates the child’s motor skills and creativity. This has a positive effect on the coloring time, because the coloring is not monotonous and the child learns that the letters come in different variants.
Coloring the alphabet is the perfect introduction to learning it by playing with coloring. Research shows that such coloring pages help in learning to write later. The second part of the coloring pages contains numbers with bold lines from 0 to 10 in two variants.
The first variant is a number with a name.
The second variant with the drawing corresponding to the value of the number.
This combination allows children to remember numbers more easily and does not introduce monotony in the colors. All the drawings are funny which has a positive effect on the child’s well-being.The third partof the coloring book contains basic shapes with names such as: circle, oval, triangle, square, rectangle, diamond, pentagon, hexagon, heart and star.
All shapes have bold lines, which makes coloring easier, they are smiling, which has a positive effect on the child’s well-being.The fourth part of the coloring book contains the basic colors with a description and a picture to be colored corresponding to a given color.

Times Fables: Learn your times tables in as little as a week [3rd Edition]
Many children find it hard to learn their times tables. This book makes it really fun, by teaching the times tables through stories that have been specially developed with visual learners in mind. Recommended for ages 5+Traditionally, children have been encouraged to learn times tables by rote. And while some children are able to learn their times tables with ease, many others struggle. This can have a devastating effect on a child’s learning, often translating into a mistaken belief by the child that they are not good at mathematics.
Written by Jessie Wilson and first published in 2017, Times Fables® is an award-winning right-brain system that helps children memorise times tables with ease. Inspiration for the book came when the author was trying to teach her daughter her times tables. Thinking back to her own school days, she recalled that her ‘favourite’ multiplication was 7 times 8. Why? Because she lived in house number 56. A lightbulb went off in her head, and she started wondering if the solution to her daughter’s times tables woes might be as simple as adding some memory “pegs” to the multiplication facts to aid recall. And with this, Times Fables® was born…

The Whole-Brain Child: 12 Proven Strategies to Nurture Your Child’s Developing Mind
In this pioneering, practical book for parents, neuroscientist Daniel J. Siegel and parenting expert Tina Payne Bryson explain the new science of how a child’s brain is wired and how it matures. Different parts of a child’s brain develop at different speeds and understanding these differences can help you turn any outburst, argument, or fear into a chance to integrate your child’s brain and raise calmer, happier children.
Featuring clear explanations, age-appropriate strategies and illustrations that will help you explain these concepts to your child, The Whole-Brain Child will help your children to lead balanced, meaningful, and connected lives using twelve key strategies, including:
Name It to Tame It: Corral raging right-brain behavior through left-brain storytelling, appealing to the left brain’s affinity for words and reasoning to calm emotional storms and bodily tension.
Engage, Don’t Enrage: Keep your child thinking and listening, instead of purely reacting.
Move It or Lose It: Use physical activities to shift your child’s emotional state.
Let the Clouds of Emotion Roll By: Guide your children when they are stuck on a negative emotion, and help them understand that feelings come and go.
SIFT: Help children pay attention to the Sensations, Images, Feelings, and Thoughts within them so that they can make better decisions and be more flexible.
Connect Through Conflict: Use discord to encourage empathy and greater social success.Read more
