Après avoir attendu des années que Glénat nous propose un coffret intégrale pour Claymore j’ai cessé d’espérer et craqué pour ce magnifique box set de chez WizMedia en version anglaise.
J’ai réussi à l’avoir aux alentours de 115€ ce qui est presque 50% du prix initial, une affaire en or.
L’édition est celle au format US/UK 27 tomes et un petit artobook collector en bonus dans un coffret cartonné solide avec scratch, reprenant le visuel de Claire le personnage principal.
Un bel objet qui ravira les fans du manga pour sûr!

Hey there, with the box itself, it has Claire holding her sword on the front and then on the back it shows you, her again but showing her from behind, on the side it shows some yoma (monsters) showing some interesting artwork.
Going into the boxset it contains 27 volumes, the first 11 covers all 26 episodes of the anime. The covers of each volume is brilliant. The artwork within each volume is incredibly awesome aswell. This also comes with an extra booklet which has some illustrations and they are not coloured, the illustrations do contain nudity! The genre to claymore is a dark fanasty, with action and drama. Claymore has the setting of a medieval theme. (just like the manga/Anime series of “berserk” which the two as a few similarities, but I digress)
The yoma has a series of abilities such as taking over a human body, having super strength etc. They like to feed on the entrails of humans, however a group called the organisation has hybrids (half human/half yoma) to kill the yoma that threatens villages for a fee of course. However the general public call these yoma killers “claymores” or “the silver eyed witches” due to them all being female (and of course there’s a reason to that)
To the story itself, it starts of with Claire saving a boy called Raki from a yoma in a village. Which he happens to take quite a liking to her during their first encounter. After certain events, Raki offers Claire to be her cook following her, on her adventures, dealing with serious encounters. The start of her adventure “with” Raki she gets handed a black card by the organisation…
This is a great manga boxset, I would highly recommend getting the boxset.

Arrived in perfect condition. I got this as a gift for my partner, the image of it was great but it’s even better in real life. The design of the box is beautiful and the quality of book volumes is great. A really great bit of kit for fans of the series & art work. It’s big, looks epic on our shelves.

Had to buy 2 because the first one I got’s plastic seal was damaged to the point that it was falling off and for the price and future collection, I wanted one that was in pristine condition.
So after returning the first one and reading the second I can say that I love the story so far. I’m still not done but the characters are amazing (except for Raki). I love the way the story is progressing and even though the pace is kinda wacky in the beginning, it looks like it’s fixed itself up, and I hope the ending is just as good. Might even come back and give it a better review if the ending is good

Edit: I finished it about a week ago and i still think about it every day. It’s sooooo good. The ending was perfect, everything made sense at the end, still wasn’t a fan of Raki, and I wish the ending was longer. After the finale, you see what everyone’s doing now, but only for like 2 panels each. My only wish is that the ending showed more panels for each characters ending. Other than that the story was beautiful, pacing was still a bit fast, and it seemed like every strong character was getting killed off by everyone except the main characters, so the fights weren’t as cool. But art, story, and the read was awesome

Depois de muito esperar na lista, veio uma promoção q saiu a 23,70 reais cada volume (total de 27). Então se pensar desse lado, saiu bom o preço.
A caixa em si é belíssima e forte, dentro parece uma mini estante.
Sobre a obra em si, muito boa, parecida com Berserk.
Arte realista e detalhada, história vai ficando mais complexa. (Geralmente Seinen tem essas características mesmo)
Pra quem lê inglês dá certo, se não, não compre, cuidado !

De los mejores collectors edition en formato impreso que he visto la caja tiene muy bonitos detalles. Y cubre y protege muy bien la coleccion. Nota que estan en ingles la obra pero me ahorra esperar años a que lo saquen en español aquien mexico. Y el precio segun cuando lo compre era de 90 pesos cada volumen. Que muy lo valen y sin mencionar la preciosa caja protectora y aparte tiene un artbook exclusivo. Y sin mencionar un excelente papel y cubierta para leer. Nota es la 14 impresion del manga. Para mi este producto Fue un callate y toma mi dinero Instantaneo. Altamente recomendable si eres fan de este manga.

The ultimate box set for all Claymore fans! I loved the anime and was left wanting answers when the series came to an end. That is when I discovered that the manga goes way beyond the anime! This is great value for money, I had started to collect the volumes one by one, but now the full set has been released you save money. Plus you get a great extra booklet full of artwork, and an incredible way to story all the volumes in this great presentation box. It has a handle on top for easy transport!
The books themselves are great, translated into English but still keeping the traditional reading method of right to left.
Treat yourself and save money, buy the boxset! You wont regret it!

That title is terrible, however don’t let that distract you from what is a very good manga series.
I definitely wasn’t feeling it at first, mostly due to the lame monster design and foreheads so large you can land a F-16 on them.
However, that swiftly changed after a couple volumes (not the forehead thing though, that’s staying) when the titular Yoma started getting far, far more interesting visually and the first volumes of world building started paying off. There are some great fights and variety as well, not all of them are solved through brute strength or ‘the power of friendship’, and it definitely keeps it interesting.
You’ll come to like characters, then feel pretty heartbroken when they get diced, knowing that characters aren’t forever definitely ups the stakes and adds weight to the many, many fights.
And it comes in this awesome standalone case which adds to your collection.
In the end, I really only have a couple minor nitpicks in terms of the story but it’s still well worth the read regardless:

A villain is introduced as a major player and serious threat, then just ends up being bodied in the lamest way possible just to introduce a threat which is largely ignored and then defeated within a couple panels?
There’s quite a few flashbacks / B-plot stuff which could have been cut down a little to not mess with the pacing for the A-Plot content.
There’s this big unspoken secret about the Claymore’s bodies that visibly disgusted everyone who knew, but after learning what it is in literally the last few chapters it ended up being really mild and not as interesting as it was made out to be.
The power of the main antagonist was pretty obscene, and required a bit of a ass-pull trope victory in the end which undermined character’s growth.
Also, she keeps on being brought back into the story in literally the weirdest ways, which ended up feeling like an attempt to make sure the reader doesn’t forget that she’s the priority since most of the story doesn’t really involve her.

The Boxset arrived in excellent condition. I watched the anime years ago so I’m very excited to finally experience the original and full story. It’s such a fast read, didn’t even feel the time pass by while I was reading! The art and character design is cool, especially the monsters.

Great box set and I like the illustrations booklet, managed to pick this up in a sale around Christmas/New Year so it was definitely worth the price and I’m happy with the purchase.
After watching the show I was left wanting more, so purchasing this set was the best option. Also it is often rated highly and recommended to those into medieval manga, Berserk and The Witcher.
