I wanted to like this book but it was just meh, I liked the FMC but I think they weren’t right together. He needed more time as all we got from him really was grief and her babying him. He’s supposed to be an alpha I get that he had a huge loss but he shouldn’t have to be babied especially when he has kids! Alphas are supposed to be strong and protective he seemed nothing like this.
Also the cover made it seem like a sweet cute romance when it really wasn’t.
Wouldn’t recommend it to be honest.

Love in the lesson plan is an emotional heartwarming tale of Giselle and Ben. As someone with a chronic condition myself, Giselles medical limitations were accurate and sympathetic. Ben’s grief was heartbreaking at times but he had the understanding and support of Giselle. Their relationship went through such a lovely journey. I loved all the side characters especially Benny, Veronica and Natalie. This story kept me gripped from beginning to end.

This was such a heartbreaking story. A lot of ups and downs that kept me on my toes. I felt like I connected with the main female character due to a similar health condition. Honestly was so different to most werewolf books I’ve read, nice to see us chronic illness girlie’s getting some spot light too. We need LOVE too HAHA. The writing and knowledge i thought was pretty great! I loved a few facts thrown in there from FMC. I loved how the Alpha was in touch with his emotions with no toxic masculinity. Was really a breath of fresh air. I loved how well the ptsd was presented and how well the fmc would help them through it, it was just so easy to connect with every character. My first Roxy Ray book but will definitely look into reading more from them.

Another wonderful touching story of love, hope and the possible of healing after something horrible.
As always I’ve fallen in love with our main characters and all the supporting cast.
And as always a sea of emotions are contained within each chapter.

This is such a sweet read but also pulls at the heartstings.

A grumpy wolf shifter and a chronically ill teacher have an almost instant attraction to each other but try to fight it. Him because he feels like he would be betraying his dead wife and her because he is the dad of one of her students.

Circumstances put them together at every opportunity and they have to work through some very emotional stuff to see if they can get their happy ever after.

There are some trigger warnings on this book so please make sure you check these out if needed. If not, then enjoy this cosy romance.

This sweet story had me hooked from the beginning, it was a slow burn but so worth the wait. Both main characters are broken in such different ways and just trying to get by and when they meet it’s like their souls know they can help heal each other, despite their attraction Ben doesn’t believe he deserves to be happy, thankfully Giselle is there to remind him he does, and even if it’s not with her she is willing to step up and help him find ways to heal for the sake of his kids.
I love that is shows that it’s ok for a man to cry and be sad, but still be a gentleman and not hide behind toxic masculinity, after everything Ben has been through he is definitely allowed to be sad, I also love that it shows that it’s ok for man to ask for help and go to therapy as burying everything deep down just leads to a dark place.

My only criticism for the book is the choice of wording occasionally used to describe something, it just didn’t seem to fit the writing style and I had to look them up to double check the meaning of them

The flashbacks the Ben has are pretty graphic so please check the trigger warnings before reading this book

Loved this book, and normally I can’t stand kid characters, but this felt a lot more real than most cardboard cutouts.

Ben and Giselle’s Story: A Gentle Romance of Second Chances and Quiet Strength –

Ben Poynter is a devoted, gentle Alpha, defined not by dominance but by his profound commitment to his small family. A widower and a survivor of deep, personal trauma, Ben’s world has been narrowed to a protective circle around his child. His current focus is not on finding love, but on rediscovering his own inherent worthiness—the right to hope, to joy, and to a life not shadowed by the past. He carries the weight of loss and the quiet strength of a man who has rebuilt his life from the ground up, seeking stability and peace above all else.

Giselle is the epitome of unseen strength. A brave, kind-hearted first-grade teacher, she is an anchor for her young students, seeing the best in every small soul. Her own life is a testament to resilience, as she navigates the daily reality of a chronic illness with grace and determination. Giselle’s journey is a powerful narrative of radical, unconditional belonging—the belief that her value and capacity for love are not diminished, but perhaps even amplified, by her daily struggles. She offers the gift of acceptance not just to others, but fiercely to herself.

Neither Ben nor Giselle was actively seeking a relationship. They met, as many parents and teachers do, during a routine parent–teacher meeting—an environment that usually promises nothing more than behavioural reports and curriculum updates. Yet, in that brief, shared space, a connection sparked. What began as mutual respect for a child’s well-being quickly evolved into a second chance romance. Their relationship is not defined by dramatic passion but by deep, quiet understanding, mutual respect, and profound acceptance. They find solace in each other’s company, recognizing a shared complexity beneath the surface of their lives.

This story is a gentle exploration of healing, proving that the most profound romance can bloom from shared vulnerability and patience. It delves into the beauty of Found Family and Cosy Hope.
