Above all, Dummy will keep you laughing through the exhaustion, the mystery and the madness of bringing up your own children.
This is the parenting book for real people.

Rats: The Essential Guide to Ownership, Care, & Training for Your Pet
What pet can play fetch, learn its name, and still ride around in your pocket? It’s a rat, of course, and if you’re surprised by this, you should take some time to learn more about these delightful animals. Though wild rats have earned a bad rap for spreading illness and disease, domestic rats are clean and friendly animals that can be loving and wonderful additions to any family. If you have children that want pets but you’re not ready for a dog, a pet rat may be a great compromise. These little critters are fabulous pets for kids, requiring relatively simple care that even grade school children can understand and handle. They’re adaptable, affectionate, and tons of fun to watch and play with. With a life-span up to 5 years, your child can have a long relationship with her animals. Rats make great adult companions too, of course. Their minimal space requirements make them ideal for apartment dwellers, and their self-sufficiency and flexible sleeping habits mean they’ll adapt readily to even busy schedules. When they’re cared for properly, rats aren’t prone to many illnesses or health issues, and they’re affordable both up-front and in the long-term. Most of the challenges in rat care are caused by the animal’s remarkable intelligence. The information in this book will teach you how to properly house these notorious escape artists. You’ll also learn about the proper nutrition and care to keep your rats healthy in the long term, and how to identify and fix problems if they do come up. Introductions to breeding, showing, and training your animals are also included, if you want to take your rat ownership to the next level. Cuddly, smart, and entertaining, a pet rat combines the low time commitment of a small animal with the affection of a dog—and you may just find it’s the perfect pet for you.Read more

Sussex Transport Heritage
Ever since the Romans built Stane Street from London to Chichester and pedlars used the high ridge-line tracks across the South Downs, Sussex has needed strategic transportation as an aid to commerce and its ever-growing population. Sussex roads only improved with the arrival of the Turnpike Trusts, creating toll houses, coaching inns, milestones and bridges, while the rise of the private motor car brought filling stations. Waterborne transport has left its mark in the form of short-lived canals, locks and bridges, along with sea ports and docks. The railways then spread their network of main lines and branch lines and left a legacy of stations, signal boxes, goods sheds and impressive viaducts, along with light railways and narrow gauge industrial lines. Sussex can lay claim to Britain’s oldest electric railway, the steepest surviving cliff lift, the first municipally owned motor bus operator in the world and is the destination of the longest-running motoring event in the world. Into the twentieth century and new forms of transport such as aircraft led to the building of airports. Gatwick – London’s second airport and the second busiest single runway airport in the world – had much more humble beginnings.Read more

Buses in South and West Yorkshire
The Metropolitan counties of South and West Yorkshire have some of the most intensive bus operations outside Birmingham and London. The former metropolitan counties include considerable amounts of rural terrain alongside densely populated urban areas. Author Peter Tucker takes us on a lively photographic tour of the region’s transport scene. The journey takes us everywhere from genteel towns like Horsforth, Ilkley and Wetherby down to areas of heavy industry such as the Don Valley in Sheffield. In between we visit places as contrasting as Barnsley, Dewsbury, Pontefract and Rotherham and Swinton. Yorkshire’s cosmopolitan cities are not forgotten either, as we explore Bradford, Leeds, Sheffield and Wakefield. Featuring operators such as Arriva, First and Stagecoach, this publication also looks back to the 1990s with photographs depicting buses of the now defunct Yorkshire Rider, Yorkshire Traction and West Riding.Read more

Creative Repair: Pastoral Care and Creativity
The recent pandemic has highlighted an increasing need for support for those experiencing mental health challenges and those caring for them. There is an urgent need for clergy and others involved in pastoral care both to attend to their own well-being and to develop resilience. The role of pastors in accompanying those grieving, planning, and conducting funerals carries a toll of emotional and psychological resources which need to be replenished routinely. Showing how everything from singing in choirs or joining theatre or dance groups to painting or sculpting can help those in leadership to develop a flexible mindset and give relief to the pressures of responsible roles, Creative Repair is essential reading both for those who train others as pastors and those who are themselves in training and preparing to take on pastoral responsibility themselves.Read more

Are You Looking to Learn how to Make Money From Trading? If your answer is yes, This book will Definitely Help you out!

Technical analysis is the study of the market primarily through the use of charts. And we come up with strategies in which we can make money in the market.
But… Technical analysis is not absolute, it’s a common misconception that technical analysts are able to forecast what the price is going to do. This couldn’t be further from the truth. What technical analysts can actually do is determine probabilities of the price doing certain things based on our previous two assumptions that human psychology leads to probable repetitions of the past and that all information is reflected in the price. So it’s not an exact science but more a combination of an artist science and a bit of common sense as well.
This is what you will get after reading this book:
◆How to actually make money Trading – Introduction to Technical Analysis.

Every Page Is Page One: Topic-Based Writing for Technical Communication and the Web
The Web changes how people use content; not just content on the Web, but all content. If your content is not easy to find and immediately helpful, readers will move on almost at once. We are all children of the Web, and we come to any information system, including product documentation, looking for the search box and expecting every search to work like Google. There is no first, last, previous, next, up, or back anymore. Every Page is Page One.For technical communicators, this Every Page is Page One environment presents a unique challenge: How do you cover a large and complex product using only topics, and how do you enable your readers to find and navigate topic-based content effectively?
In this ground-breaking book, Mark Baker looks beyond the usual advice on writing for the Web, and beyond the idea of topic-based writing merely as an aid to efficiency and reuse, to explore how readers really use information in the age of the Web and to lay out an approach to planning, creating, managing, and organizing topic-based documentation that really works for the reader.

Autodesk Revit 2024 BIM Management: Template and Family Creation (Metric Units): 10
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an approach to the entire building life cycle. Autodesk® Revit® is a powerful BIM program for architecture, MEP, and structure that supports the ability to coordinate, update, and share design data with team members throughout the design construction and management phases of a building’s life. A key component in managing the BIM process is to establish a company foundation for different types of projects by creating standard templates and custom family elements. Having this in place makes the process of any new project flow smoothly and efficiently.
The objective of the Autodesk® Revit® 2024 BIM Management: Template and Family Creation guide is to enable users who have worked with the software to expand their knowledge in setting up office standards with templates that include annotation styles, preset views, sheets, and schedules, as well as creating custom system, in-place, and component families.
This guide contains practices that are specific to each discipline.
Topics Covered
- Create custom templates with annotation styles, title blocks, and custom element types.
- Create schedules, including material takeoff schedules with formulas.
- Create custom wall, roof, and floor types, as well as MEP system families.
- Set up a component family file with a parametric framework.
- Create family geometry.
- Create family types.
- Modify the visibility of components and incorporate additional family items such as controls, MEP connectors, and nested components.
- Create specific families, including in-place families, profiles, annotations, and parameters.
This guide also contains discipline-specific practices for families, including doors, windows, railings, pipe fittings, light fixtures, gusset plates, and built-up columns.
Prerequisites
- Access to the 2024.0 version of the software, to ensure compatibility with this guide. Future software updates that are released by Autodesk may include changes that are not reflected in this guide. The practices and files included with this guide might not be compatible with prior versions (e.g., 2023).
- You should be comfortable with the fundamentals of the Autodesk Revit software, as found in the Autodesk Revit 2024: Fundamentals for Architecture, Autodesk Revit 2024: Fundamentals for Structure, or Autodesk Revit 2024: Fundamentals for MEP guides. Knowledge of basic techniques is assumed, such as creating standard elements, copying and moving elements, and creating and working with views. Information on Collaboration Tools, Conceptual Design, and Site Planning and Design are covered in other guides.

Technical Due Diligence and Building Surveying for Commercial Property
Technical Due Diligence and Building Surveying for Commercial Property is the first book to introduce the process of technical due diligence (TDD) and examine the role of the building surveyor within the commercial property sector. The book outlines the processes that the surveyor must go through when performing a TDD inspection and report and, most importantly, covers in detail the typical pathology and defects encountered during TDD.
Performing a TDD survey involves collecting, analysing and reporting on a huge amount of information, often under specific contractual conditions. The book covers everything the surveyor needs to know in order to do a proper job and includes analysis of materials, life cycles and potential defects on an elemental basis, with detail on individual components where necessary.
Coverage includes:
• an introduction to the TDD process and types of commercial buildings encountered
• chapters outlining the life cycle and defects of: structures, roofs, facades, finishes and services
• hundreds of illustrations and photographs of defects, real-world case studies and suggestions for further reading
• a final chapter covering legal issues and technical details.
This book fills a clear gap in the literature and is the first fully illustrated book on TDD dedicated to commercial building stock. It will help students and professionals to understand the process, the science involved and the reasons why defects occur, as well as their evolution and long-term impact.

Training and Assessing Non-Technical Skills: A Practical Guide
Providing a practical guide to the training and assessment of non-technical skills within high-risk industries, this book will be of direct interest to safety and training professionals working within aviation, healthcare, rail, maritime, and other high-risk industries. Currently, each of these industries are working to integrate non-technical skills into their training and certification processes, particularly in light of increasing international regulation in this area. However, there is no definitive guidance to assist practitioners within these areas with the design of effective non-technical skills training and assessment programs. This book sets out to fully meet this need. It has been designed as a practically focussed companion to the 2008 book Safety at the Sharp End by Flin, O’Connor and Crichton. While Safety at the Sharp End provides the definitive exploration of the need for non-technical skills training, and examines in detail the main components of non-technical skills as they relate to safe operations, the text does not focus on the “nuts and bolts” of designing training and assessment programs. To this end, Training and Assessing Non-Technical Skills: A Practical Guide provides an extension of this work and a fitting companion text.Read more

Technical Lands: A Critical Primer (The Critical Primers)
Technical lands are spaces united by their “exceptional” status―their remote locations, delimited boundaries, secured accessibility, and vigilant management. Designating land as “technical” is thus a political act. Doing so entails dividing, marginalizing, and rendering portions of the Earth inaccessible and invisible. An anti-visuality of technical lands enables forms of hypervisibility and surveillance through the rhetorical veil of technology. Including the political and physical boundaries, technical lands are used in highly aestheticized geographies to resist debate surrounding production and governance. These critical sites and spaces range from disaster exclusion and demilitarized zones to prison yards, industrial extraction sites, airports, and spaceports. The identification and instrumentalization of technical lands have increased in scale and complexity since the rise of neoliberalization. Yet, the precise theoretical contours that define these geographies remain unclear. Technical Lands: A Critical Primer brings together authors from a diverse array of disciplines, geographies, and epistemologies to interrogate and theorize the meaning and increasing significance of technical lands.
